Last Will and Testament

A.K.A – Will. This  legal document provides instructions for what should happen to a person’s assets after his or her death. If a person dies without a will, they are said to be “intestate,” and state intestacy laws govern the distribution of the property of the decedent.

Living Will

A.K.A – Advance Directive. This legal document provides instructions regarding the medical care a person wishes to receive if he or she becomes incapacitated or seriously ill and cannot communicate their preferences themselves.

Power of Attorney

A power of attorney (POA) is a legal document giving one person the power to act for another person. POA can have broad legal authority or limited authority to make legal decisions about the principal’s property, finances or medical care. The power of attorney is frequently used in the event of a principal’s illness or disability, or when the principal can’t be present to sign necessary legal documents for financial transactions.
